The acceptance or lack of acceptance of our natural hair is ironically not just a personal issue, but an issue that also has political, social, and economic implications. Hair care Industries and other cultures, specifically Asians, make billions of dollars off products for and related to OUR hair.
ORDER YOUR CALENDARBy educating ourselves, we can begin to better educate our youth. Furthermore, we can build up our own communities by better positioning ourselves economically.
Again, these videos are not intended to tell anyone what to think, but are intended to challenge your thinking, by showing you the impact that our hair care purchases and insecurities have on the Black community. These videos can also be used to begin having much needed conversation and dialogue about how all of these issues impact us personally, culturally and more specifically, the mental and psychological development of our young girls.
